The Radical Gift Of Love

There is a story of a man who went fishing with his son and his son’s friend. And while in the middle of the river, the little boat capsized. The man could swim, but his son and the friend could not. And there was only one lifejacket for the two of them. The father had a choice to make; to either give the lifejacket to his son and lose the friend or give it to the friend and lose the son.

The man chose the later, he looked into the son’s eyes and shouted over the roar of the waves, “I love you son,” then threw the only lifejacket to the son’s friend. His son got drowned; his friend was saved.

This story illustrates  what Father God did for you, to save you from the danger of eternal death and separation from God.

Jesus Himself tells us,
“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”
(John 3:16, AMP)

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized YOU, that He  gave up His ONLY Treasure just to have you come into His life. God took Christ’s life, to give you a life. He made Him poor, so that you might be rich. He crushed Him and put on Him all your infirmities, so that by His stripes, you might be healed.

This is the great exchange of the Gospel. It’s God’s radical Gift of love.
So what are you going to do about it?
Turn your back and walk away?
Or believe and receive this Gift of love?
