Have you ever felt insecure about a relationship you had been in? I had felt that a countless times. I knew that fear that you might wake up one day and realise that, that love you once cherished is no more. And sometimes, this insecurity influences your attitudes until it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
God’s love is different. His love for you is boundless. He loves you with an undying love.
Apostle John, in John 13:1, gives us a heartwarming account of Christ’s love for His disciples while on earth:
“Before the passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now HE LOVED THEM TO THE VERY END.” (NLT, emphasis mine)
This is how God loves. He loves you to the very end. He never falls out of love with you. He never calls it a quit.
He loves you with an everlasting love.
His love for you is eternal, endless, exhaustless:
“…I have loved you with an everlasting love,” declares the Lord in Jeremiah 31:3.
God didn’t begin to love you. No! He had always loved you, from eternity. Before He had brought forth the world, He chose you to be His very own child. He made you the object of His affection and the focus of His delight. Loving you has always been His plan and pleasure.
Be secured in the fact that God will never ever stop loving you. He will never ever, no matter what, turn His back on you. He once turned His back on Jesus because of your sin. So you can now enjoy endless fellowship with Him. He will love you to the very end, and will continue to love you through eternity.
“…those the Father has given to me will come to me, AND I WILL NEVER REJECT THEM,” declares the Christ (John 6:37, NLT, emphasis mine)
You’re one of those the Father has given to His Son Jesus. And about you He declares: “I will never reject you.”
There’s no rejection for you, my friend. God has accepted you in His Son Jesus. So you can now go to bed in peace, knowing that when you wake up, God will still be there, loving and cherishing and adoring you as ever.
You really have to let this truth sink: the fact that God is eternally in love with you. He doesn’t scantily love you. No, He loves you to the highest degree. His love for you is enormous.
It’s my prayer that you will let His perfect love cast every insecurity out of your mind, and you will let His ocean of love wash away your fears and set you free from all torments. In Jesus Name.
